Who Can Apply
- Small or medium enterprises (SME) participating on their own, with:
- Headcount less than 250 in Annual Work Units (AWU)
- Annual turnover ≤ €50 million or annual balance sheet total ≤ €43 million
- From an eligible country
- Smart AgriFood vertical looks for startups that are/have:
- Solving problems related to farming, agri-logistics and food awareness
- Applications for traceability, logistics, and quality control in production/distribution
- Smart Cities vertical looks for startups that are working towards:
- Optimizing urban resource consumption and supply/demand management
- Smart Content looks for startups operating in the
- Mobile content sector as content provider and/or content distributor
- Innovative products in electronic media, telecom, gaming, video, VR, etc.
- Smart Manufacturing startups working to solve problems related to
- Value chain organization using Cyber-Physical Systems with IoT and IoS
Selection Criteria
- Phase I: Highly scalable technology startups in the growth phase that are/have:
- Initial investment and a product already on the market
- Established partnerships with corporate or strategic partners
- Plans to scale globally and open in new territory in less than 6 months
- Established in Europe or willing to open in Europe before entering the program
- Product or service that uses FIWARE technology
- Valuable social impact
- Criteria for Phase II:
- Team skills and founders dedication to the project
- Traction in terms of users, profit, and sales
- Scalability, growth potential, and knowledge of the potential market
- TRL (Technology Readiness Level) of 8 or 9
- Amount of investment received, founders own equity and sources of money
- On round: looking for money and investment for scaling the business
- Advanced stage of commitment with a corporate or equivalent strategic partner
